Material / Hardware Info
Fabric - 100% of fabric is sourced from expired Woven Image fabric swatches that were destined for landfill. This includes the vinyl patches!
Cord - From german company Pfeiffer, this cord is from their econyl line. It’s made from discarded fishnets, clothes, plastic waste, and old carpets. This material is used in the neck strap and all zipper pullers.
Webbing - From Pfeiffer’s econyl line as well! Same material in a different form. This is used for the neck pad.
Zipper - From YKK’s recycled zipper line. White zipper fabric is made with recycled materials but, the plastic teeth unfortunately are not. This will be replaced once I use the rest of the material I have.
Embroidered Patches - Made at a small local shop here in West End, Brisbane. Unsure on recycled content here.
Thread - From a local shop that’s inventory is all extra fabric from big manufacturers that were going to throw the fabric out. I wanted to support their business as much as I could! haha
Carabiner - Wanted to get something that was high quality and heavy duty so it could come in handy for other things! This little guy can support ~400kg / ~800lbs. So feel free to use it for a hammock! haha
Manufacturing Info
Manufacturing - All made by hand, by me, in my small office here in Brisbane.
Zero-waste patterning - These bags were designed intentionally to ensure there was no waste created in their creation, other than small thread trimmings from sewing. This zero-waste style includes the zipper, cords, and webbing as they were all cut to length from a large roll!
