AL-PINE Table Collaboration with FluxSpace
In Short:
Jason and I share a passion for sustainable furniture design. Together, we conceptualized a flat-pack, zero-fastener office table optimized for compact shipping, using split tabletops. Crafted from local, lightweight, and recyclable materials, I aided in design brainstorming and produced the assets for prototyping and manufacturing.

Procreate
Reduce the warehousing and shipping space needs for large tables
Remove fasteners that require tools for ease of customer assembly and disassembly
Flatpackable concept with tabletop that splits in half for storage improvement
No fastener assembly for ease of on-site assembly
Made from local and sustainable materials (aluminum and pine, AL-PINE)
Manufactured locally with longevity of craft as priority
Using Rhino, I transformed our sketches into 3D models of the table. This enabled us to adjust components, resolve shape interferences, and perfect aesthetic proportions.
General Drafting
Lazercut files
Refined sketches for quick quotes
Ideation, sketching, and to-scale detail drawings.
Jason and I held collaborative sketch sessions, often using large sheets for a broad view. We then started drawing to-scale, laying the drawings out on my office table to gauge life-size aesthetics and usability.
pencil sketches are Jason's, pen are mine
Aluminum and pine: "AL-PINE"
Frame and structure: Aluminum for its light weight and recyclability
Tabletop: Pine, abundant locally, was our choice to promote regional sourcing
